HIFU Full Face Details
HIFU stands for high-intensity focused ultrasound. It is arguably the most advanced and effective non-surgical technology for lifting and tightening the face. Though there are many non-surgical facelift treatments that can effectively target the top layers of skin (the superficial dermis), HIFU is unique in its ability to target focus points at multiple depths beneath the surface, including the dermis, right down the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system), which is the layer adjusted by surgeons during a traditional facelift. The applicator uses multiple focused beams of ultrasound energy. Individually, these beams have no effect on the skin or the layers beneath it, which allows them to pass through multiple layers. When the beams converge on a targeted point, they create a nodal point of thermal energy which contracts the underlying muscle and facilitates collagen regrowth.
As a result, the face tightens, and signs of aging are reduced. Unlike some non-invasive treatments which require a course of treatments over several months, HIFU generally only requires a single treatment.
